Sephah Shahr Mosque

Location: Tehran, Iran

As architects and planners, we were appointed by an Iranian developer to master plan a contemporary residential precinct with community facilities, commercial hub and a place of prayer for this Shiite community in Tehran.

The complex design brief required us to undertake extensive on-site analysis and address both vernacular Persian architecture and traditional Islamic influences but reinterpret these into a modern contemporary idiom whilst retaining the basic Shiite requirements including dual minarets.
