Situated in Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan province in China, this spectaular sky-scraper is making itself known within this high growth economic hub in central China. With an exterior to mimic the iconic buildings of the 1920s New York skyline, and incorporating a theatre, shopping complex, a luxury hotel and apartments, this spectacular golden building is cunningly designed to employ all these functions. Whilst working hard to maximise floor space, the building still delivers a unique style, using indents and set backs within the facade, creating an illusion of a building within a building, bringing interest and almost tricking the eye.

The shimmering facade combines mirrored panels and transparent glass to reflect the life of the street in which it sits, just as a theatre performance reflects the lives and events of the story it tells.
